Kerry’s Place is excited to offer Transitional Aged Youth Socials (TAY Socials): Pathway to Independence, which focuses on daily living skills. The program is created for autistic youth ages 14-18, transitioning towards independence in completing routines, healthy eating, employment skills, post-secondary supports, and social awareness.

There are ten online sessions where participants will participate in fun and interactive activities, games, and lessons to help promote the development of new skills. Sessions are geared towards the following topics:

• Week 1: Routine Building
• Week 2: Healthy Eating
• Week 3: Job Readiness
• Week 4: Interviewing Skills
• Week 5: Financial Literacy
• Week 6: Identity
• Week 7: Managing Emotions
• Week 8: Online Safety
• Week 9: Post-Secondary Support
• Week 10: Wrap up and Review

Transitional Aged Youth Socials will be delivered virtually. The virtual link will be e-mailed by Kerry's Place staff two business days prior to the day of the scheduled event.  If you do not see the e-mail in your inbox, please check your junk mail folder or spam folder. If you still haven’t received an e-mail with the virtual Link, please contact intake@kerrysplace.org  explaining the problem. We will do our best to answer your request as soon as possible. To participate, the following is required:

• mobile device, tablet or computer
• internet connection
• speakers and a microphone
• webcam

Please note: Registration does not guarantee a space in this webinar. To be eligible, completion of an initial Kerry’s Place Autism Services intake meeting is required and additional documentation may be required to attend.

Once a group registration request is received on My Community Hub:

A Kerry’s Place Intake staff will reach out to request updated documentation, as needed. Documentation includes: Kerry’s Place Service Agreement (valid for 1 year), Supported Person Profile (valid for 1 year), Media Release (valid for 1 year), and others as needed

The Kerry’s Place Intake staff will confirm registration for the specified group(s) requested, and ensure that the group(s) align with your child or youth’s strengths and goals.

You will receive a reminder email 48 hours prior to the session from the facilitators that will include further details related to drop-off and pick-up instructions, sign-in/sign-out procedures or virtual link (if applicable).
