Service Description: SHIP has a Central Intake and Access department which serves as a single point of access for all applications and information.


Intake and Assessment team provides:
  • single point of access for applications and system navigation
  • intake and assessment services
  • referral triage for mental health, addiction and specialty services
  • centralized waitlist management for housing and specialized programs
  • designated Intake and assessment counsellor for applicants on waitlists, providing guidance on eligibility criteria, service options, and next steps
  • individualized support for individuals and families to identify the most appropriate services based on needs and circumstances
  • timely responses to inquiries from applicants, families, and service partners
  • up-to-date system knowledge of community services, resources, and opportunities
